HUBOLUTION ✊

You may have heard the word and wondered what it means.

The Webster's dictionary definition of Hubolution states:

Robert Jones, Commissioner of Content at RevPartners, helped break it down for us: “People refer to CRMs as a "single source of truth", but the singular truth is this: HubSpot is easier to adopt by the end user, has an exponentially quicker time to value, and a significantly lower total cost of ownership.”

Now at first glance you might see this and think this is a no brainer to ride this wave. An enterprise-level CRM with easy-to-use features… what’s not to love, right?

Well, we did the hard work to tell you why you shouldn’t join the coolest movement happening in SaaS.

Repeat: Don’t join the Hubolution, for these 5 reasons:

Reason 1: You don’t want to use an easy-to-use, enterprise-level CRM

So yea HubSpot might have evolved with intuitive, new product features so that you don’t need to scale off the tool anymore as you continue to grow.

Big deal!

Take for example Chili Piper’s integration with HubSpot

It lets folks from SMB all the way through Enterprise route inbound or outbound leads to the right rep. And we are talking complex routing rules here — based on account owner, territory, company size, industry. Any custom field you’ve got in HubSpot, Chili Piper can route based on that.

These capabilities can grow HubSpot into something that is truly worthy of an enterprise organization.

"Our ecosystem of world-class Solutions Partners and App Partners are a huge part of the appeal of the HubSpot platform for our customers. Chili Piper is a terrific example of an amazing product that, integrated with HubSpot, gives our enterprise customers a wide range of advanced leading routing and scheduling capabilities."
-Scott Brinker, VP of Platform Ecosystem at HubSpot

And what about the proclaimed “ease of use”.

We’ve all heard that HubSpot is an easy-to-use CRM.

But is this type of forward-thinking what you really want?

Wouldn’t you rather the challenge of trying to figure out an overly complex tool that only benefits you once you get to a certain maturity level?

Does this seem familiar:

  • You’re an engineer and thrive in hours of admin work to set up workflows
  • You live for putting out fires that happen after your team member breaks the entire thing (again)
  • You love being the only person on the team to have the knowledge to troubleshoot your complex system — who needs PTO anyways??

After all, being the only person at your company who understands everything that happens is so cool.

If these are the type of situations you live for, then the Hubolution is not for you.

Reason 2: You like spending more money than you need to

What’s the most common phrase in the tech world in 2023?

“Do more with less.”

We’ve heard it time and time again. Especially during the economic downturn that you need to achieve more results with less resources.

Of course, this also means tech stack budget cuts.

Many teams are asking themselves: Which tools can get me more bang for my buck? AKA have more capabilities but at a lower price point?

“As organizations look to decrease spend in today's macroeconomic conditions I think increasingly more are entertaining a CRM switch from Salesforce. More and more SaaS companies are building direct integrations with HubSpot CRM so you're no longer limiting yourself from a GTM perspective by choosing the less expensive solution.”
-Tom Rowe, VP of Sales at Chili Piper

So let's take a hard look at HubSpot. It is generally more cost effective than other CRMs because pricing is based on usage — which means the pricing only scales as your team grows.

Other CRMs, by comparison, have an expensive base price — regardless of usage.

So if you’re someone who likes to walk to the beat of your own drum, consider this:

“Do more with more.”

Pay more and do just as much as you could do with other resources.

If you feel the urge to open up that wallet and make it rain, then the Hubolution is not for you.

Reason 3: You hate being included in awesome communities

A sense of community is the cornerstone for a thriving lifestyle. Or is it...

Maybe you're more of a lone wolf, preferring solitude to thriving communities.

Surrounding the Hubolution is the Sprocketeer Community which is the largest independent HubSpot community that exists, and is connected with HubSpot all the way up to their executive team.

Being a part of this community is a way to promote your brand across a diverse audience and engage with super admins and HubSpot users of all skill levels to crowdsource ideas and questions.

“If you're stuck on a certain HubSpot issue, the Sprocketeer channel on Discord is a 24/7 community of helping hands who jump into action to solve any problem and provide support.”
-Adam Statti, Content Marketing Specialist at RevPartners

As you may or may not know, one of Chili Piper’s core values is “help” and we do try to strive and embody the spirit of help and support by giving access to the tools the community needs to take their HubSpot usage to the next level

Because Chili Piper believes in this so much we are actually co-hosting an after party with the Sprocketeer Community at HubSpot Inbound ‘23 and speaking during their lounge at the conference. Drinks, fun, networking, oh my.

Does the sound of “drinks, fun, and networking” send cold shivers up your spine?

Hey, this ideology might not be for everyone.

Maybe you’re the type of person who likes to ride solo in the night, embark on quests and journeys by yourself. Maybe you consider yourself a lone wolf.

If this is you — do not join an awesome community like Sprocketeers. For that matter, don’t join the Hubolution at all.

Be strong in your independence.

Reason 4: You like not being able to use your CRM until you take a 3-day training course

Are you the type of person who likes not being able to use your CRM until you take an extensive  training course?

If that’s the case, I have another CRM that comes to mind that might be perfect for you.

But one option I would not suggest is HubSpot.

It is more intuitive and user friendly than other CRMs.

You don’t need to be an engineer or take a 3-day training course to use it, so the barrier to entry is much lower in comparison to other tools.

But even with that intuitiveness, the next phase of the HubSpot Admin is coming with tools like Supered.io being created which make it even easier for you to become a HubSpot Super Admin.

In fact, Chili Piper saw the value in making it as easy as possible to increase user adoption and usage so we created our own easy to download Chili Piper dashboards and reporting in HubSpot through Supered.io.

But like I said, this might not be your jam.

You wait those 3 days, and you train to the best of your ability.

We salute you. 🫡

Reason 5: You like waiting a long time to see any value

Last but certainly not least, you are the type of person who likes to wait a long time until you see any value.

Immediate ROI? No thank you!

For you, the longer you wait, the more it’s worth it in the end.

And since the barrier to using HubSpot is so much lower and people can use it more intuitively, you’ll see a quicker time to value and quicker implementation.

Quicker time to value? That’s for the weak hearted.

Choosing your path: To Hubolution or not to Hubolution

Now it’s your time to decide if you want to reach the RevOps Paradise and join the Hubolution, or stand against it.

"HubSpot has been gaining steam over the past few years, not only as a Marketing Automation Platform but as a full-blown CRM. You can now manage all of your GTM data in one place, along with all of your end-to-end processes. Add-on Chili Piper and now you have a lead routing and pipeline generation machine!"
-Kyle Freitas, Co-Founder and COO of The Operations Company

So let’s hash it out in September at HubSpot Inbound ‘23. Come by booth #15 and let us know where you stand!
